Teaching the Top 10 SEL Skills to All Students Webinar (Recording)

Presenter(s): Stephen N. Elliott, Ph.D.

This webinar lays out the 10 social emotional learning skills that parents and teachers highly value in children and describes how the SSIS SEL Classwide Intervention Program 6-step approach can benefit children and those working with children.

Research with teachers and parents has established that they highly value 10 social emotional learning skills in their children. Among these 10 SEL skills are listen to others, follows rules, asks for help, get along with others, and stay calm with others. These skills and five others are directly taught in the SSIS SEL Classwide Intervention Program (CIP) using a 6-step evidence-based intervention approach that is S.A.F.E.R and requires less than 1.5% of the school year. All intervention materials are web-based and highly engaging for interventionists (i.e., teachers, counselors, psychologist, and social workers). The SSIS SEL CIP has been identified as a SELect Program by CASEL.
