Anna Barnett

Anna Barnett (BA, PhD, AFBPsS, Chartered Psychologist) is a Professor of Psychology in the Centre for Psychological Research at Oxford Brookes University. She has a BA in Psychology & Physical Education, University of North Wales Bangor and a PhD in Child Development, Institute of Education, University of London. Her general area of research is the development of motor control and coordination in children and young adults, with a special focus on Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Her publications in this area include work on the diagnosis, description and developmental course of DCD, examination of perceptual-motor difficulties and also exploration of the genetic contribution to motor difficulties. Anna worked for several years as Chair of the steering committee of the International Society for Research in DCD and is a co-author of the International clinical practice recommendations for DCD. Anna is a co-author on the Movement Assessment Battery for Children – Third Edition (Movement ABC-3), and is principal author of the Detailed Assessment of Speed of Handwriting – Second Edition (DASH-2).
