Making standardized assessments work in school-based practice: linking data to state standards Webinar (Register Now)

The occupational therapist is tasked with using standardized assessment methods to justify the need for occupational therapy services. Many assessment methods provide a clear indication of a student’s abilities compared to other students at a body structure and function level. Yet, it is the responsibility of the occupational therapist to link the assessment data to occupational performance. For the school-based practitioner, this can sometimes be challenging to make the connection between underlying skills and academic standards.  

This session will focus on how to utilize standardized assessment data and link the information to Common Core academic standards. By doing so, the occupational therapist can justify services and provide a clearer explanation of the role of the occupational therapist on the interprofessional education team, creating more collaborative goals that directly relate to occupational performance in the school setting.
