Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales | Third Edition

Audience:
This workshop is designed for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other professionals who administer, score, interpret, or use adaptive behavior data to support assessment, treatment planning, service authorization, and progress monitoring.

Course description:
This half-day workshop provides practical guidance on the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the Vineland-3 for behavior analytic practice. Participants will learn how to select and use the Comprehensive Interview, Parent/Caregiver Form, Teacher Form, and Domain-Level Forms to assess adaptive functioning across settings. The session will explore how Vineland-3 results can be used to identify strengths and skill deficits, support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), inform Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), establish meaningful treatment goals, document medical necessity, and monitor progress toward functional outcomes. Through discussion of real-world applications, attendees will gain strategies for translating adaptive behavior data into actionable, evidence-based recommendations that support improved independence and quality of life.

• Describe the structure, content, and clinical applications of the Vineland-3.
• Administer, score, and interpret the Vineland-3 using the most appropriate form for the referral question and service setting.
• Analyze adaptive behavior strengths and deficits to inform behavior analytic assessment and treatment planning.
• Use Vineland-3 results to support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and individualized goal development.
• Apply Vineland-3 data to document outcomes, support service recommendations, and monitor meaningful functional change over time.
