Positions available

Operations

Operations is responsible for manufacturing and distributing assessment materials, capturing data, and reporting results for over 25 million paper-based assessments annually.

Positions in Operations include production clerks, machine operators, warehouse material handlers, image editors (data entry) and packaging clerks. Locations include Cedar Rapids (IA), Owatonna (MN) and Austin (TX).

Regional Scorer

Scoring Services provides comprehensive solutions to customers for scoring of open-ended assessment items. Our wide range of experience and capabilities, refined throughout our 40-year history, enables us to offer customers standard and custom solutions that meet their needs regardless of whether their test is administered on paper or online, and scored by human scorers or automatically using our Intelligent Essay Assessor or automated math scoring technologies.

Positions include Test Scorers and Supervisors that work at one of our regional facilities. Most temporary positions are available during peak months of January - May. Locations include Austin (TX), Charlotte (NC), Iowa City (IA), Mesa (AZ), Raleigh/Durham (NC), San Antonio (TX), San Juan (PR) and Tulsa (OK).

National Board Assessor

Pearson conducts professional scoring of National Board portfolio entries and assessment center exercises at our network of scoring centers across the US during the summer months. As only practicing educators are selected to assess these submissions, we could not complete our work without the help of dedicated teacher participants.

All training and scoring activities must be done in the United States.

edTPA Scorer

edTPA is a pre-service assessment process designed by educators to answer the essential question: "Is this new teacher ready for the job?"

edTPA is a subject-specific assessment, where scorers train and score in a specific content area based on their educator experience within the last 5 years. As of February 2021, we score portfolios in 27 teaching fields. Scorers participate in training and scoring activities from home with a part-time, flexible schedule.

CalAPA Assessor

The California Administrator Performance Assessment (CalAPA) measures students' mastery of selected California Administrator Performance Expectations (CAPE). California educators are invited to apply and must meet specific qualifications for credentials and educator experience within the last 3 years.

Scoring of the CalAPA will include assessor training and calibration. Training typically occurs each spring and fall based on submission estimates and assessor needs. Once calibrated, scoring activities will be completed from home with a part-time, flexible schedule.

CalTPA Assessor

The California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA) is a state-mandated assessment for Multiple and Single Subject Credential Program candidates. California educators are invited to apply and must meet specific qualifications for credentials and educator experience within the last 3 years.

Scoring of the CalTPA will include assessor training and calibration and will be subject-specific. Assessor training typically occurs each spring and fall based on submission estimates and assessor needs. Once calibrated, scoring activities will be completed from home with a part-time, flexible schedule.

Education Specialist CalTPA

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC or the Commission) is developing the state’s model teaching performance assessment, the Education Specialist California Teaching Performance Assessment (EdSp CalTPA). Pursuant to Education Code Section 44320.2, this assessment program is intended to meet one of the requirements for the recommendation for a preliminary teaching credential. California educators are invited to apply to score pilot and field test submission and must meet specific qualifications for credentials and educator experience within the last 3 years.

Scoring of the EdSp CalTPA will include assessor training and calibration and will be credential-specific. Pilot and Field Test assessor training will occur in spring 2022. Once calibrated, scoring activities will be completed from home with a part-time, flexible schedule.
