Course Description:
This half-day workshop provides practical training in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the Vineland-3, with a special emphasis on conducting and scoring the Comprehensive Interview Form. Participants will learn best practices for gathering high-quality adaptive behavior information from caregivers and teachers, establishing rapport during interviews, eliciting accurate responses, applying scoring rules, and avoiding common administration errors. The session will also review the Parent/Caregiver, Teacher, and Domain-Level Forms, including guidance on selecting the most appropriate form for a given referral question. In addition, participants will learn how to use Vineland-3 results to identify adaptive behavior strengths and weaknesses, support eligibility and diagnostic decision-making, inform intervention planning, and monitor meaningful functional outcomes over time.

  • Describe the structure, purpose, and clinical applications of the Vineland-3.
  • Administer and score the Vineland-3 Comprehensive Interview using standardized administration procedures and best-practice interviewing techniques.

  • Interpret Vineland-3 scores and patterns of adaptive functioning to identify individual strengths and areas of need.
  • Apply Vineland-3 results to support diagnostic and eligibility decisions, intervention planning, treatment recommendations, and progress monitoring.
