Mental health support in a rapidly changing world

As our world continues to rapidly change, so will the needs of its inhabitants. Lately, mental health has come from the shadow of the stigma that’s followed it up until now, and a real effort is being made to identify and help those in need of support.

In this spirit, Pearson is proud to introduce our newest adult mental health webinar series, Grand Rounds. During these sessions we will conduct expert-led discussions on the importance of assessments, followed by thematic “grand rounds” featuring a mental health case study.

  • The Value of Assessments
    Monday, October 19 | 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. ET

The first in a series of grand rounds-style webinars focused on the value of assessments, this session will highlight the benefit of assessment in the treatment process.

  • Encouraging Resilience and the Value of Personality Assessments
    Thursday, November 12 | 4:00-5:00 p.m. ET

This webinar focuses on how personality assessment — particularly Millon instruments, but applicable to a broad range of assessments — can go beyond the thoughtful and prudent guidelines recently established for teleassessment to accomplish vital therapeutic goals, possibly more effectively than therapy/teletherapy alone.

  • Trauma and the Value of Assessments
    Monday, November 16 | 1:00-2:30 p.m. ET

This presentation will discuss the roots of trauma, its impact on development, and how it can shape not only a person's filtering of the world, but also influence their coping methods. Assessment tools that can provide important insight into the effects of trauma exposure, maladaptive responses, and how these factors shape treatment interventions will also be discussed.

  • Substance Use: A "New Normal" and How it Effects Mental Health Care
    Monday, December 7 | 1:00-2:30 p.m. ET

This “new normal” of substance-use acceptance may benefit some but could pose a risk to others who have mental health concerns that compromise their coping abilities.

This session will provide a platform to review some measures that can provide insight into those most at risk of having a poor capacity to regulate their coping behaviors when ingesting controlled substance. We will also discuss how this may impact your treatment focus.
