Reading skills are the most important factor in a learner’s academic success, but how do you make sure your reading program is on track in order to help foster this success?
Formative assessment — including screening, benchmarking, progress monitoring, and diagnostics — are all vital components of successful literacy programs. Pearson has a number of research-based assessments with proven reliability and validity to help guide your young learners to measurable progress and academic achievement.
The US Department of Education has set aside $380 million for their Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy grants (SRCL). These grants are available to school districts in 11 states in order to advance literacy skills — including pre-literacy skills, reading, and writing — for students from birth through grade 12, including ELL students and those with individual needs.
When applying for your school or district to receive a portion of your state SRCL grant award, keep these research-based solutions in mind. Each aligns with national- and state-level standards, and provides a wealth of data that can be used to guide your literacy programs and improve outcomes for your students.
