1. Applicability

This Privacy Policy explains the way NCS Pearson, Inc. (“Pearson” or “we”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from each user (“User” or “you”) of the www.pearsonassessments.com website (“Site”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and any personally identifiable information collected by Pearson through this Site.

This Privacy Policy applies only to this Site. Other websites, including other Pearson websites linked through or to this Site, may have their own privacy policies and practices. Your use of any other website is subject to the privacy policy of that website.

2. Purpose

The purpose of this Site is to provide information about certain of our Assessment products and services and an avenue to contact us about these products and services and place online orders for our Talent Assessment and Learning Assessment products and services. Use of this Site is subject to the Terms of Use for this Site.

3. Collection and Use of Personal Information

Users are not required to provide personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) to visit and browse this Site.

If a User sends us an email or completes one of the contact forms referenced this Site, we may collect Personal Information, including: first and last name associated with the User’s title, address, email address, phone number, fax number, organization name and any other additional information the user voluntarily chooses to provide. Such Personal Information may be used to respond to emails and inquiries, market our products and services, request feedback, fulfill requests and assure compliance with the Terms of Use of this Site.

If a User sets up a Pearson account or places an order for products and services through this Site, we may collect Personal Information, including, first and last name associated with the User’s title, address, email address, phone number, fax number, organization name, user name, password, shipping and order details, credit card or other financial account information and related transaction information necessary to fulfill an order. Such Personal Information may be used to fulfill the order; deliver the products and services ordered; authenticate and verify the User’s identity and authorization to access the Pearson account and place orders; maintain Pearson’s customer records; respond to emails and inquiries; obtain User feedback; market additional products and services to the User; and assure compliance by the User with applicable contracts and terms.

4. Protection of Personal Information

We use appropriate commercially reasonable data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of Personal Information and related transaction and order information collected and processed through this Site. This Site provides a secured transmission method for the electronic transmission of credit or other financial account information. The Internet is a global environment. Through use of this Site and submission of information to us electronically, you consent to trans-border and international transmission of any data you choose to submit, including transmission within and to the United States.

7. Information from Children

This Site is not directed to children, including anyone under the age of thirteen (13). Pearson will not knowingly collect or process any Personal Information from anyone under the age of thirteen (13) through this Site.

8. Non-Personally Identified Information

We may collect non-personally identified information about Users whenever they interact with this Site. Such non-personally identified information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about the Users’ means of connection to our site, such as the operating system, internet service provider and IP address (a number automatically assigned to the User’s computer by their internet service provider). This information is generally collected for system administration purposes, to monitor activity levels and for security purposes. Pearson does not link IP addresses to Personal Information, except that we reserve the right to link IP addresses and other non-personally identifiable information in order to protect the integrity of this Site, to monitor compliance with our Terms of Use and for security purposes.
