Overview

Tier Two Behavior Interventions: Which Solution Where?

Many students are at elevated levels of risk for behavior and emotional problems—how can we intervene and prevent these problems from developing into life-long disabilities? "Tier-two" or targeted interventions brings prevention and intervention programming to students based on problem type but short of individualized or comprehensive assessment. This session will review targeted problem identification and treatment.

The Art and Science of Progress Monitoring: Setting Behavior Goals and Measuring Progress

How do we know who is responding to our efforts and who needs more assistance? Progress monitoring is common in academic areas, but what about in behavior? There are multiple methods for progress monitoring behavior and response to intervention—this session will highlight a few options and help you determine which is a best fit for your students.

Universal Screening for Behavior

Approximately 20% of our school age population has or would qualify for mental health services and many of these students later develop disabling conditions. Since prevention is the most effective and efficient method for providing services – how do we find our 20%? This session will review Universal Screening from start to finish, providing timelines and examples.

SLD Identification in an RTI Framework with a Mathematics Focus Parts 1 – 3

Part 1

This presentation will assist the practitioner in understanding assessment and evaluation within the RTI framework. The session will include strategies on; how to define what is educationally relevant/not relevant, what tools to utilize in order to answer diagnostic questions, and how to ensure that evaluations are comprehensive enough to make educationally relevant decisions. Participant will learn diverse, in-depth assessment strategies to assist in better decision making as part of Tier 1 with the RTI continuum. This will include: what tools are available for Universal Screening in the area of Mathematics, what to do with Universal Screening data once it has been collected, evaluating your core instruction in the area of Mathematics and identifying when to move a student to Tier 2 for additional assessments.

Part 2

This is a continuation of the Part 1 webinar. The session will include strategies on; how to define what is educationally relevant/not relevant, what tools to utilize in order to answer diagnostic questions, and how to ensure that evaluations are comprehensive enough to make educationally relevant decisions at the Tier 2 level of RTI. Participant will learn diverse, in-depth assessment strategies to assist in better decision making as part of the RTI continuum. This session with include: a focus on progress monitoring and data based decision making, tools that are available to gain diagnostic information in the area of mathematics that can lead to better instructional planning and identifying when to a student to tier 3 for additional assessments.

Part 3

This is a continuation of Parts 1 and 2. The session will include strategies on; how to define what is educationally relevant/not relevant, what tools to utilize in order to answer diagnostic questions, and how to ensure that evaluations are comprehensive enough to make educationally relevant decisions at the Tier 3 level of RTI. Participant will learn diverse, in-depth assessment strategies to assist in better decision making as part of the RTI continuum. This session will include: A look at continued progress monitoring, investigation of tools that are available to provide more in depth cognitive and executive functioning information that will lead to better instructional planning. This session will conclude the series by demonstrating the conclusion of identifying a student through the multi-tiered assessment cycle.
