Overview of Advanced Clinical Solutions for WAIS-IV and WMS-IV
Advanced Clinical Solutions for WAIS-IV and WMS-IV is designed to enhance the clinical utility and expand the construct coverage of these respected tests. This new tool provides a common and related sample linking WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, executive function, social cognition, and daily living. Designed to address specific needs of clinical assessment, the ACS offers tasks, procedures, and scores that yield additional information about the processes underlying performance on the WAIS-IV and WMS-IV. During this one-hour webinar, the presenter will describe the additional assessments and additional scores offered by ACS for WAIS-IV and WMS-IV.
Assessment of Suboptimal Effort
The assessment of suboptimal effort is an important function performed by clinical psychologists, forensic psychologists, and neuropsychologists. In cases that could involve substantial secondary gain to the examinee, e.g., large monetary awards, it is especially important for psychologists to demonstrate that the examinee’s performance is consistent with the nature of his or her injury or clinical condition, i.e., that the results are valid. Thus, it is common for medical-legal evaluations and other litigation cases to include measures of symptom validity. This one-hour webinar will describe several measures of symptom validity used by psychologists to assess reported psychiatric symptoms and cognitive impairments.
Conducting Forensic Evaluations: Using Data from the WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, and ACS
If you conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for litigation, you may need to be able to quantify the impact of trauma on a patient’s cognitive functioning. You may need information on symptom validity to determine if a patient might be feigning cognitive symptomatology. During this 1.5 hour webinar, the presenter will demonstrate how data from the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition, the Wechsler Memory Scale-Fourth Edition, and Advanced Clinical Solutions for WAIS-IV and WMS-IV can help psychologists answer specific questions such as those related to premorbid functioning and effort, both of which are important in litigation cases and for medical-legal evaluations.
Conducting TBI Evaluations: Using Data from the WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, and ACS
If you conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to evaluate loss of functioning secondary to a brain injury, this webinar will provide you with useful information. During the 1.5 hour webinar, the presenter will discuss referral questions psychologists need to answer when conducting evaluations for a possible diagnosis of Traumatic Brain Injury. The presenter will demonstrate how data from the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition, the Wechsler Memory Scale-Fourth Edition, and Advanced Clinical Solutions for WAIS-IV and WMS-IV can help psychologists answer specific questions such as those related to premorbid functioning, serial assessment, social cognition, and executive function.
Conducting Geriatric Evaluations: Using Data from the WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, and ACS
If you conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to identify a progressive and long-term decline in cognitive functioning, this webinar will provide you with useful information.
