Test Description: |
The WRMT consists of several tests of reading readiness and reading achievement that assess the reading skills of both children and adults. In this revision, existing WRMT content is being updated, and new content and features are being added, including new full-color art. A parallel version of each scale will be developed. |

Test Administration Time: |
Estimated testing time is 60 minutes per case, depending on the age of the examinee. |

Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning–4 (DIAL–4)
Test Description: |
The DIAL-3 is undergoing revision. The DIAL is a screening test to assess motor, conceptual, and language behaviors demonstrated by young children. In addition, a Parent Questionnaire provides normative scores for the child’s self-help and social skills. We are field testing both the English and Spanish versions of the DIAL-4. |
Ages or Grades to be Tested: |
We will be testing normally developing children (those not receiving special education services) ages 2 through 5 years old from a variety of demographic backgrounds. Our sample will require both English-speaking children and Spanish-speaking. |
Test Administration Time: |
Examinees can be tested either by an individual examiner or using a stations approach. We encourage sites to consider using the stations approach as it is the preferred method of administration for the DIAL-4. The stations approach requires three examiners be present—one at each of the three testing areas: Motor, Concepts, and Language. There will also be a station called a Play Table which needs a monitor. Estimated testing time at each station is approximately 15 minutes per child. |
Site Coordinator Qualifications: |
Must have experience with administering assessments. Should hold at least an associate’s degree (preferably a bachelor’s degree) in education or a related field and have experience working with young children (e.g., day care teacher or worker, preschool teacher, etc.). |
Field Examiners Needed: |
Early childhood specialists, educators/teachers, paraprofessionals, school or clinical psychologist, educational diagnosticians, psychometricians, psychometrists, speech-language pathologists. Graduate students of these professions may also participate with appropriate supervision. |
Testing Dates: |
Testing starts October 2009 and continues through May 2010. |
