Important Information about Software Application Installations and Updates
The following includes important facts about the installation, licensing, and product updates for The Psychological Corporation Center (PCC) software. Please read this document prior to installing and/or updating your software.
Administrative Rights
Administrator is a Microsoft Windows™ security setting that enables restricted access to create, delete, and modify files, folders, and settings on the computer. Administrative rights are permissions granted by administrators to users which allow them to create, delete, and modify items and settings. If your computer is not managed by a central IT organization or network administrator, you most likely have “Administrator” rights as most privately purchased computers come standard with the rights set for individual user. If you do operate under an IT organization (e.g., in a school or company setting) contact your IT department to determine if you are an administrator of your computer.
Please note that you must have administrator privileges to install or update our software. If you do not have administrator privileges, contact your IT department.
Serial Numbers
During the installation, you must enter the 15-digit serial number for your product. The serial number can be located on the back of the original product jewel case. The format for the serial number is: X99 X99X9 9X99 X99 (the X represents the alpha characters and the 9 represents the numeric characters). This serial number allows you to install the application a set number of times as designated in the License Agreement. It is important to keep your serial number in a safe location in case you need to reinstall your software.
Licensing Information (Single User and Site Licensing)
Our software applications include a License Agreement, which outlines the terms and use of the software. You must agree to the licensing conditions during the installation of the software.
When you purchase your software, you are allowed two (2) installations for a single-user only. If you require more installations than what is pre-determined in your License Agreement, you may request a site license for the application. This site license will allow you to purchase a single CD-ROM and install it on the number of machines specified in your license. Also, the site license allows you to install your software over a network, which allows the specified number of licensed users to install the software.

If the allowable installations have been exhausted and you must install your software on another computer, uninstall the software from at least one computer prior to installing it on the additional computer.
Reinstalling Software
If you have reinstalled the software, following the directions in the booklet insert inside your jewel case, check for and install any available updates for either the platform or the software application by connecting to the internet. See the following sections for information on how to do this.
After applying any available PCC updates, it is important to ensure that you are using the latest available version of the software. When you open your application after the installation, you will be prompted to update your application, if applicable. Please download and install any available product updates.
Updates to the PsychCorpCenter Platform
PsychCorpCenter is the platform on which all of your software resides. Through this platform, you are able to enter examinee data once to be used across all assessments, which eliminates duplicate entry of information. From time to time, Pearson will update the PsychCorpCenter platform to improve usability. These platform updates affect your entire portfolio of products, such as the WISC–IV Scoring Assistant or the WIAT–II Scoring Assistant. Individual product updates (see below) will not appear in your notification until your PsychCorpCenter platform is current. The PsychCorpCenter platform update appears alphabetically in the list of updates.
It is important to download and install updates for your PsychCorpCenter Platform as you are notified.
Updates to the Product-Specific Software Applications
Occasionally, Pearson produces updates for our software applications. Although most of these updates are minor enhancements, some are much more critical and may include changes to the scoring and reporting of your software. When an update for your software is available, you will be notified if you are connected to the Internet. These updates are also available from the Pearson Technical Support website at:

If you would prefer to have a CD-ROM containing the product updates, you may request one from the Pearson Technical Support Center by calling 800-249-0659.
You must download and install product updates to ensure the version you are using is the most up-to-date.
Operating System
If you are running an older operating system, we will continue to support it for 12 months after it has been discontinued by Microsoft. To verify that your operating system is supported by Microsoft, visit the Microsoft website at:

The operating systems supported by our software are Windows Vista™ | XP | 2000. Ensure your computer meets the minimum software requirements prior to purchasing our software.
