Ordinate

Ordinate Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harcourt Assessment, Inc., is the first company to develop a completely automated method for testing spoken language. Based on advanced speech processing technology, Ordinate's tests measure facility in spoken language. The tests can be used to evaluate language proficiency accurately and reliably. This unique approach offers academic institutions, corporations, and governments an efficient and effective way to evaluate spoken language skills -- anytime, anywhere, in a matter of minutes and at a lower cost than traditional methods.

Ordinate's Scientific Advisory Board provides advice on best practices in test design, testing methods, scoring and score reporting.  The Advisory Board members meet periodically to review Ordinate's products and practices.  Individual members of the Advisory Board also consult on particular issues that arise in Ordinate's technical and commercial activities.

Ordinate Corporation was founded in 1996 to develop language testing systems based on new advances in speech processing technology to score language proficiency. The company is based in Menlo Park, California.
