Tasks Appropriate for Each Level
All Versant tests incorporate a “listen-speak” process that requires the student to listen to English words or sentences and to respond in English. Written instructions are in English or the student's native language (currently available in Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Japanese).

*The open question task at the High School level requires students to speak spontaneously in response to an open question. Administrators can listen to the open question responses to better appreciate the student's spontaneous fluency and rhetorical skill. Open questions are not automatically scored.
