National Pain Foundation Triumphs with Fundraising Dinner

The National Pain Foundation (NPF) recently hosted a Triumph Dinner fundraiser at an elegant Beverly Hills mansion. The event drew 300 pain medicine professionals and included participation by 18 corporate sponsors, including Pearson. The event raised $160,000 to fund NPF website enhancements and to add staff to the NPF organization.

The evening “went a long way towards creating awareness of this emerging public health issue, and there is along way to go,” says NPF Executive Director Mary Pat Aardrup. “There is much more work to be done.”

The evening’s entertainment included Chevy Chase, who shared his personal experiences with chronic pain. “It was a very special night,” says Aardrup. So special, NPF plans to make it an annual event. Pearson has supported the National Pain Foundation since its inception in 1998 and continues to support NPF’s work in educating medical practitioners, persons in pain, and the general public about pain issues and treatments.
