BHI™ 2/BBHI™ 2 Test Authors Published in Pain Magazine

Practical Pain Management magazine recently published articles written by our test authors, Dan Bruns, PsyD, and Mark Disorbio, EdD.

“Chronic Pain and Biopsychosocial Disorders” by Bruns and Disorbio was published in the November/December 2005 issue. The authors explain how illness, injury, psychological and social factors interact over time to produce different biopsychosocial disorders. They say clinicians must identify the different aspects of a patient’s condition and understand how each component interacts in order to develop an effective treatment plan.

The March, 2006, issue contains the article “Assessment and Treatment of Chronic Pain,” by Disorbio, Bruns, and Giancarlo Barolat, MD. They say the complex nature of chronic pain often requires more than medical treatment alone. This article focuses on the psychological and social dimensions of chronic pain and offers suggestions as to how these two dimensions can combine with the medical dimension to improve care.
