Tasks Performed
All Versant tests incorporate a “listen-speak” process that require the test-taker to listen to English (or Spanish) words or sentences and to respond in English (or Spanish). Written instructions are in English or the test-taker's native language (available in Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish).
Test-takers are asked to read aloud , repeat sentences , answer questions , and build sentences . They are also asked open-ended questions so that administrators can better appreciate the test-taker's spontaneous fluency and rhetorical skill. In addition to the above, Versant for Spanish test-takers are asked to identify opposites and to retell stories .
